Reeves Young has been selected as the Construction Manager at Risk for a multi-phase, three-block street restoration project in downtown Nashville, addressing damage from the 2020 bombing on Second Avenue. This project requires close coordination with the Metro Nashville Planning Department, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA), the Downtown Partnership, utility providers, and local businesses to minimize disruption and maintain pedestrian safety. Subsurface improvements include replacing the combined sanitary/storm conveyance system with dedicated sanitary mains and stormwater lines, reconfiguring water mains and services, adjusting high- and low-voltage systems, and modifying existing gas, water, power, sanitary, and signalization infrastructure. At street level, the revitalized corridor will feature pedestrian-friendly spaces, decorative paver bulb-outs, high-visibility crosswalks, outdoor seating areas, and enhanced lighting systems, creating a more inviting and accessible urban environment.
