Construction has begun on the Northeast Trail, a new segment of the Atlanta BeltLine that will provide an off-street link between Midtown and the Lindbergh area. Reeves Young will build what is known as Segment 2, the trail will extend the existing Northeast Trail in both directions, connecting to Piedmont Park at Westminster Drive and extending to Mayson Street. The construction started in April and is expected to take approximately 18 months, with the trail tentatively scheduled to open in fall 2023. Once completed, the Northside Trail will span 1.2 miles and include lighting, landscaping, and security cameras.
